Gorillapods are unique tripods that allow you to take steady, shake-free photos almost anywhere. The tripods are composed of small ball-like segments connected by flexible joints that bend and rotate a full 360 degrees. You can literally bend and wrap the tripod legs around nearly any object - trees, light posts, telephone poles, and more.

There are currently three types of Joby Gorillapods: the original Gorillapod, Gorillapod SLR, and the Gorillapod SLR-Zoom. The original Gorillapod is designed to accommodate regular point-and-shoot cameras that weigh up to 9.7 oz. The Gorillapod itself weights 1.6 oz and costs about $20. The Gorillapod SLR is designed for heavier SLR cameras (without zoom lenses) that weigh up to 1.75 pounds. The SLR version is slightly larger and considerably heavier at 5.8 oz. This Gorillapod, which can also handle smaller digital camcorders, retails for about $40. Finally, the Gorillapod SLR-Zoom is designed to handle SLR cameras with attached zoom lenses up to 6.6 pounds. This version is, of course, the largest of the three, and weighs 8.5 oz. There is also and adaptable screw at the top of the Gorillapod SLR-Zoom, which allows you to attach an additional digital SLR or tripod head. The Gorillapod SLR-Zoom retails for about $50.
