The Canon EF 24-105mm f4L IS USM is essentially the mid-range lens for Canon's popular L-series. The series also included the EF 17-40 f4L USM on the wide angle end, and the EF 70-200 f4L USM on the telephoto end. Of these three, the EF24-105mm lens certainly has the broadest appeal, as it is capable of shooting some wide angle and telephoto shoots, as well as everything in between. This wide range makes it a very versatile lens that can be used in a variety of situations.

Aspherical lens elements also reduce spherical aberration, allowing image sharpness, contrast, and quality to be maintained throughout the entire photo. Finally, the common effects of flare and ghosting are dramatically reduced by a Super Spectra lens coating that absorbs light and reduces unwanted reflections.
