Sony
acknowledged yesterday a defect in eight Cyber-shot models (DSC-F88,
DSC-M1, DSC-T1, DSC-T11, DSC-T3, DSC-T33, DSC-U40, DSC-U50) sold
between September 2003 and January 2005. The defect involves faulty LCD
screens that have been displaying images incorrectly, resulting in
distorted or incomplete photos. Sony has agreed to fix any camera free
of charge that carries the defect. This latest hardware issue does
little to help Sony's image, which is still recovering from the massive
laptop battery recall earlier this year.
