Have you wanted to take pictures of far off galaxies, distant stars, or
perhaps highly-detailed photos of the Moon? Well you can with the Canon
20Da dSLR. The camera is much the same as the Canon 20D, but with a few
important modifications that make it highly suitable for astrophotography.
The 20Da has a special low-pass filter in front of the image sensor that, according to Canon, "
yields
sharper and higher contrast images of various astronomical phenomena
such as diffuse reddish nebulae." In addition, the Canon 20Da has a
magnified live view mode on the LCD display - a feature not found on
other dSLRs. This allows the photographer to get a better idea of the
extent and composition of the photograph. The live view can also be
hooked up to a TV or monitor for easier viewing.
The Canon 20Da also has improved noise reduction and
an optimized CMOS control system. The camera's expanded ISO range is an
impressive 50-3200. Of course, the camera can be mounted onto any
telescope using a common T-mount, allowing you to take stunning photographs of the night sky.
