Pentax 645 18-megapixel dSLR
Get ready for a 18-megapixel digital SLR. It's likely that sometime in early 2007 Pentax will officially announce their 645 dSLR, which
will take a quantum leap in resolution. The same camera may also be
upgradeable, eventually incorporating a 30-megapixel image sensor.
It is difficult to imagine what photos with such a resolution would look like. Combined with improved color sensing technology, this camera - and others like it - will probably produce the most stunning and true-to-life photographs yet. An official marketing timeline for the 645 has not yet been announced.
