The Canon EOS 20D Digital SLR Camera
The
Canon EOS 20D is another well-balanced entry to mid-range digital SLR
appealing to both advanced amateurs and professional photographers on a
budget. The successor to the popular Canon 10D has a new 8.2-megapixel
APS-C-size (22.5 by 15.0mm) CMOS sensor combined with a
second-generation DIGIC II image processor also found on the
professional EOS-1D Mark II. The 20D has the same 3:2 ratio as film cameras, providing an angle of view 1.6 times the normal EF lens focal length. The camera also has a relatively wide 100-1600 ISO range, with ISO 3200 capability in extended mode. At higher ISOs, the camera is designed to keep noise at a minimum through the usage of newly developed narrow-gap microlenses and noise-reduction circuits. Images should be sharp and clear, even under low-light conditions.

The camera switches on in only 0.2 seconds, and is capable of continuous shooting at 5 frames per second for up to 23 consecutive shots (JPEGs). Maximum shutter speed on the Canon 20D is top shutter speed of 1/8,000 second without flash, and1/250 second with flash.
The Canon EOS 20D has several other important features, including a 1.8-inch color LCD display, E-TTL II flash metering system (also found on the EOS-1D Mark II), Canon EF lens compatibility, ability to shoot in RAW / JPEG, or both at the same time, expanded zoom display, a true black and white mode, strong magnesium alloy body, high-precision 9-point AF system, and in-camera image processing options.
